Scars Review - Uncut magazine

Uncut magazine gave 'Scars' a slightly ridiculous and not exactly glowing review in its February issue, but it's a pretty good thing to have even got in there.

"Goodwin's Essex accent unfortunately scuppers his wish to sound beautiful in the manner of the best transcendent folk, instead recalling Chelsea's Joe Cole giving a post-match interview. As Scars - written and recorded over 10 years - is generally just one man and his acoustic guitar pondering broken hearts and mysteries of love, this progressively becomes a bit of a problem. His lyrics are thoughtful and "Watertight" is a song of controlled intensity, but it's tough to shake the spectre of Billy Bragg that lurks at this record's elbow"
