Uncut magazine gave 'Scars' a slightly ridiculous and not exactly glowing review in its February issue, but it's a pretty good thing to have even got in there.

As Scars - written and recorded over 10 years - is generally just one man and his acoustic guitar pondering broken hearts and mysteries of love, this progressively becomes a bit of a problem. His lyrics are thoughtful and "Watertight" is a song of controlled intensity, but it's tough to shake the spectre of Billy Bragg that lurks at this record's elbow"
